Donate via credit card through our secure online giving form. HGSE accepts VISA, Mastercard, Amex, and Discover.

Make your check payable to “President and Fellows of Harvard College.” In the check’s memo section, please allocate your gift to the “HGSE Fund” or a specific fund you wish to support.

1. What is Harvard’s Federal Tax Identification Number?
   
   Harvard is registered with the Internal Revenue Service as a private nonprofit 501(c)3 with a federal tax ID (EIN) of 04-2103580. Harvard’s legal name is President and Fellows of Harvard College, which will appear on all relevant tax documentation.
    
2. When will I receive a tax receipt for my donation?    
   
   Tax receipts are mailed within 15 business days after the donation is made to the preferred address on file. As of March 2022, all gifts made by credit card will receive a tax receipt to the email provided in the online giving form. If you need a copy of your tax receipt, use the Request a Tax Receipt form.
    
3. Can my partner and I both receive credit for a gift to HGSE?
   
   Yes, but it is not automatic. If you want joint credit for a donation with your partner, you must indicate on the online giving form or reply slip if you’d like the gift to be credited jointly. All joint gifts will be split 50/50 for tax purposes, but each person will receive credit and recognition for the full amount of the gift.
    
4. Can I make a confidential donation?
   
   Yes. Please reach out to Alumni & Development Services (ADS) by email ads@harvard.edu or call 617-495-175 if you would like your gift to remain confidential.
    
5. What is HGSE’s fiscal year?
   
   The fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30.
